Uruguay were the first ever winners of the World Cup and they have undoubtedly been the surprise package of this year's tournament in South Africa, after being the very last team to qualify for the finals. A play-off win over Costa Rica was required for Uruguay to qualify for the 2010 finals and they haven't looked back since. Conceding just one goal, Uruguay are unbeaten in the tournament, winning Group A at the expense of France.

Despite a shaky patch half way through their second half win over South Korea in the last sixteen, Uruguay have looked solid defensively and have a real cutting edge in the final third with Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez.

Ghana on the other hand are the romantic story of this World Cup. Played on African soil for the first time, the Black Stars were unfancied pre-tournament but became the only African side to get out of their group and after a 2-1 win over the United States have reached the World CUp quarter-finals.

Uruguay v Ghana Odds

Uruguay are favourites for this match and look a big price at anything evens or bigger. Despite Ghana's great run to the quarter-finals, the clinical finishing of the likes of Diego Forland and Luis Suarez could prove too hot to handle for the Ghanaian defense.

Uruguay Form

Uruguay come in to the World Cup quarter-final unbeaten and only having conceded one goal in the tournament. A defensive lapse from goalkeeper Fernando Muslera lead to a South Korean equaliser in their last sixteen match on Saturday but a double strike from Luiz Suarez sent the Uruguayans through.
