Uruguay v Costa Rica Betting
2014 World Cup - Group D - Uruguay 1 - 3 Costa Rica
14th June - KO: 8pm BST -
Uruguay were considered to be one of the 'dark horses' for the 2014 World Cup but they suffered a shock defeat in their opening Group D match with Costa Rica losing 3-1.
The Uruguayans needed to beat Jordan in a play-off to book their place in the finals in Brazil and they will hope to show their class in Fortaleza, where they take on Costa Rica. The Costa Ricans are considered to be the minnows of Group D but they demand respect after qualifying from the CONCACAF section as runners up to USA.
Uruguay have never lost in seven previous meetings with Costa Rica though, winning five and drawing two, and they go into this fixture as odds on favourites. The Uruguayans will be keen to make a winning start to life in Group D as the presence of England and Italy in the group ensures qualification is likely to be a close-run thing and goal difference could be crucial in the end.

Luis Suarez - Goal difference could be a key factor when it comes to qualifying from Group D and Luis Suarez will be keen to make hay against this Costa Rica side. The tricky striker can be a 'flat track bully' when it comes to taking on weaker sides and Costa Rica will do well to keep him at bay.
Bryan Oviedo - Costa Rica's defence will have to be on their mettle if they are to stop Suarez and co. in their tracks and the qualities of Bryan Oviedo will have to come to the fore. Oviedo is an excellent full back and he will be charged with keeping tabs on Suarez when he drifts wide, while also providing Costa Rica with their own threat down the left hand side.
