Slovenia v Russia Betting Preview
Russia were five minutes away from virtually tying up their World Cup qualification before Nejc Pecnik's 87th minute strike gave the Slovenians some hope in the second leg. That away goal proved to be vital as Slovenia won 1-0 in front of their home crowd and progressed to the Word Cup finals on the away goals rule. Guus Hiddink's team will be kicking themselves after giving away that goal in the first leg but they looked poor when given 45 minutes to save their campaign. This was a disappointing end to Guus Hiddink's campaign and it's likely that the Dutchman will now move to pastures new for a new challenge.
Russia's away performances in the group stages of qualification were good enough, winning all barring their trip to Group winners Germany and drawing away in Azerbaijan in what was a dead rubber.
Slovenia on the other hand have a fine home record in the 2010 World Cup campaign, having won all bar one of their matches at home in the group stages. Add to that, only one goal conceded they certainly fancied and took their chances on Wednesday night.
