Group G is one of the strongest groups in the World Cup with three teams fighting it out for the top two slots in the section Portugal play the whipping boys of the section North Korea at the Cape Town Stadium. Its expected that Portugal will be fighting it out with Brazil and the Ivory Coast for those qualification spots making this game a must win for the 2006 Semi-Finalists. With Brazil facing the Ivory Coast in the other game this is a chance for the Portuguese to claim a quick three points ahead of the final round of matches.
Portugal did not have a great time in qualification, they struggled past Bosnia in a play-off while North Korea have qualified for the first time since 1966. Realistically North Korea have very little chance of picking up a point in the group against the big boys, they will give it their all though and will be difficult to break down. Portugal sit on one point after drawing 0-0 with the Ivory Coast whilst a brave perfomance from North Korea saw them go down narrowly 2-1 to Brazil in the first round of matches.
