Bosnia-Herzegovina v Portugal Betting Preview

Portugal took a narrow 1-0 lead into their second leg match with Bosnia Herzegovina on Wednesday evening. Bruno Alves's first half header was enough to seperate the two teams in the first match but there were question marks over whether the Portuguese had enough of a lead to take to Zenica. The Bosnians qualified comfortably for the play-offs having finished runners up behind Spain in Group 5 at the expense of Turkey. Portugal on the other hand struggled under manager Carlos Quiroz finishing second in albeit a tough Group 1. In tough conditions it was Portugal who showed their metal winning 1-0 on the night and 2-0 on aggregate and will take thei place in next summer's World Cup finals.

Bosnia considered themselves a little unlucky after hitting the woodwork twice in Saturday's match and came into the second leg with plenty of confidence in front of their own crowd on Wednesday night. Group 5 winners Spain were the only team to beat the Bosnians and Portugal knew what kind of test they were up against.

Portugal's away form isn't actually too bad, only dropping points against Sweden and Denmark (both draws) in the Group 1 campaign. However, without Cristiano Ronaldo the Portuguese looked a little devoid of ideas and it wasn't until Raule Meireles's 56th minute strike that they looked comfortable.
