France an interesting outside bet for this years World Cup having just scraped through qualification via the back door with a controversial play-off victory over Ireland. Now they are in South Africa they are a very dangerous team who are the clear favourites to progress through to the knock-out phase from Group A, their first match will see them play Uruguay in Cape Town in a vital encounter.
Uruguay also made it to the World Cup through the play-off route in beating Costa Rica over two legs for their first World Cup since 2002 when they went home after the group stages. If they are looking to improve on that performance in South Africa then they will be eager to get something out of France in this match with a draw a good result for the South Americans.
France will face off against Uruguay on the 11th June in what is already looking like an exciting betting heat, the French are the strong favourites to claim the three points despite not being in great form recently. Uruguay are no pushovers though as the odds reflect they performed well during qualification and will fancy their chances of claiming the three points.
