The Castelao Stadium in Fortaleza (Ceara) will be hosting a series of matches for the upcoming World Cup 2014. In December 2012 it became the first of the 12 stadiums to be completed after it was redeveloped especially for the tournament, upgrading to a 66,700 all-seated venue.
Ceara Sporting Club and Fortaleza Esporte Clube are the two local teams who play their home games at the Castelao Stadium, which is expected to host a handful of matches in the summer of 2014.
