Belo Horizonte - Mineirao Stadium
The football mad city of Belo Horizonte is home to the Mineirao Stadium which will be used for the 2014 World Cup, along with the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2016 Olympics Games. The historic stadium, which is famed for its atmosphere on match day, has been modernised, revamped and upgraded to 62,000 for the World Cup. It is set to host six matches at the tournament, including a semi-final.
The city is knocknamed Barga and features three main football teams: América, Cruzeiro and Atletico.
