Belgium v Algeria Betting
2014 World Cup - Group H - Belgium 2 - 1 Algeria
17th June - KO: 5pm BST -
Fancied by many, Belgium got their Group H campaign of the 2014 World Cup underway with a win against Algeria in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday, despite going a goal down via a penalty in the first half.
This will be Belgium's first major championships since the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea where they made it into the second round. The odds suggest they should be reaching the quarter finals in Brazil and they have a wealth of talent at their disposal, including the likes of Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Vincent Kompany, Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Dembele and Christian Benteke. Algeria scraped through to the finals thanks to a controversial away goal win in a play off against Burkino Faso and they're not expected to get out of a group which also includes Russia and South Korea.
The betting has Belgium as long odds on favourites. Belgium won the last meeting between the two sides just over ten years ago.

Head to Head
- Friendly International: 12th Feb 2003 - Algeria 1 - 3 Belgium
- Friendly International: 14th May 2002 - Belgium 0 - 0 Algeria
Eden Hazard - Belgium have a wealth of talent in their squad going to Brazil, but in the first game of the tournament, all eyes will be on Eden Hazard to pull the strings and help get his team off to a winning start.
Madjid Bougherra - The former Rangers centre back is the elder statesman of what is a pretty inexperienced Algerian team. This first match looks a tough assignment and all of Bougherra's experience will be needed if they are to shut Belgium out.
