Algeria are in a strong position as they bid to qualify for their fourth World Cup. The Algerians topped Group H in the CAF qualifying section and will be confident of getting the job done in their quest to reach Brazil in 2014. They have appeared at three previous World Cups but have never gone past the first round. Algeria get a chance to beat that record in their 4th appearance in the finals having beaten Burkino Faso on away goals to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Algeria have been drawn in Group H for the finals alongside Belgium, Russia and South Korea.
Despite going ahead courtesy of a Sofiane Feghouli penalty, Algeria lost 201 in their opening Group H match against Belgium. However, a 4-2 win in their second game against South Korea meant a 1-1 draw against Russia in their final game was enough to finish second in Group H and go into the second round where they lost to Germany 2-1 after extra time.
